A weekend with family

Well the rest of the week/weekend was quite eventful!  I became very very sick after Lilly's 1/2 birthday, so Ed (being the wonderful husband that he is) stayed home to help take care of Lilly so I could actually sleep and attempt to start to get better.  Friday, my dad was able to stop by and see Lilly.  We had a nice visit, despite me fighting off the cold.
By Saturday, I was feeling much better, so we went ahead with our plans.  We had plans to go up to Indy to meet up with Ed's parents(who came down from LaPorte), his sister(who came in from Lexington) and her boyfriend(who is in Med school in Indy). Indianapolis seems to be the most central location.  We had a wonderful time!  We were able to catch up with everyone, we had a fabulous dinner at Ruth Chris's Steakhouse, and everyone got their chance to love on Lilly.  Lilly was so very well behaved!  At the restaurant, we were giving our own little room, which was perfect for all the stuff that comes with Lilly.  We were able to keep her stroller in there, and feed her dinner right in the room as she sat in her stroller!
All in all, it was a wonderful weekend, and I'm so glad we were able to do all that we did.  Spending time with family is precious, and we wouldn't have it any other way!

6 months old

It's so hard to believe that it's finally here!  Lilly officially turns 6 months old today!  It seems like only yesterday that this beautiful baby came into our world and changed everything... our lives, our hearts, our worlds.  She truly has been a great blessing in our lives, and she has brought joy to all who meet her.  She is loved more than words can say and by so many.
Today we were able to have a 1/2 birthday party for Lilly.  It started out as just dinner with my Uncle Tony and Uncle Paul, and turned into a full 1/2 birthday party with Uncle Tony, Uncle Paul, Ben, Alex, and Corban.  We had my "gay" chicken  with rice, cheese & broccoli, salad, sweet rolls, and a 1/2 birthday cake.  I had not planned on giving Lilly any cake (she is only 6 months old) but after setting the cake in front of her to sing "Happy 1/2 Birthday to you" and having her reach out for the cake, I decided to go ahead and give her a piece.  It brought quite humorous results.

She dug into the cake like it was the most natural thing in the world!  She only had about two very small bites; she was more interested in tearing the cake up into pieces!   She sure seemed like she had fun doing it, though.  I can't wait to see what her first birthday will be like!
All in all, it was a wonderful evening.  Miss Lillian Grace is a beautiful, sweet baby girl.  She brings smiles to so many many people's faces; even complete strangers.  I hope she keeps that sweet spirit and that sweet smile always with her as she grows and matures.
